April in Alemgena

These are traditional beehives made from mud and straw and some bamboo with stuffed burlap sack end caps. the bee keeper says they insulate better that the modern ones and keeps the bees warmer.

A little Sunbird that hung out at our door. A Tsavo Sunbird or a Violet-breasted Sunbird
Watching the coming storm. When the wet season comes here, it REALLY RAINS! The streets are rivers and mud holes.

Our friend Mulatu, a chemistry teacher at the high school. This was his engagement party.
Preparing to ride by horse carriage to see Mulatu's bride and ask her father for permission to marry.
